Come on, come on, turn the radio onIt's Friday night and I won't belong
As soon as we see these words, a strange image and a strange voice come to our mind. That is 'sia' who is wearing hair big enough to cover her face.
sia's childhood
sia Kate Isabel Furler was born on December 18, 1975, in Adelaide, South Australia. Her mother was an art teacher and her father was a guitarist. From an early age, he grew up associating with famous actors, bands, and circus performers, and as he grew older, he realized that the music industry was best suited for his future endeavours. Unexpectedly, however, her loving family fell apart. His father was addicted to alcohol, and his parents often got into fights. As a result, her mother separated from her father. Little sia loses his father's love and he divides from them and moves to Sydney.
Starting life as a singer
At the age of 17, sia was working in a restaurant when she learned from a friend that a band in Adelaide was looking to hire a singer. sia, who participates in the selection test, passes it and is recruited to the team.
About four years later, the band split up, and sia, 21, plans to move to London with her boyfriend. But a few weeks later, her boyfriend dies in a car accident. sia, who is traumatized by this incident, becomes addicted to alcohol. A few days after her boyfriend's death, sia receives a ticket to London from a friend. sia, who has lived with several other Australians in London for about six years, is still heavily addicted to drugs.
One day, she receives an invitation from a friend of hers to sing at a party. sia accepts the invitation and finds out who will later become her first manager. Through him, sia gets to identify various characters in the music industry, but sia fires him after learning that his manager is a cocaine smuggler.
Eventually, the 25-year-old sia released her first song via Sony's Dance pool label, making it one of the top 10 songs on the American charts. Second, sia, who is composing a song for her dead boyfriend, begins to make big strides in her singing career. Because of sia's unique talents, musicians called Zero 7 invite sia to create several music albums with them. sia's songs quickly embraced the audience and her song Breath me was used in the popular TV series Six Feet Under.
Quit singing
As he progressed in the field of singing, sia had the opportunity to travel around the world due to the huge audience response. After about 13 successful years, sia's unbearable burden of exhausting travel, incessant sleep, and loneliness fell on her head. These problems with publicity made him suffer from depression, and as a result, he became addicted to drugs again. sia, meanwhile, sought treatment for her mental illness, but she desperately wanted to take her own life.
sia, who orders large quantities of drugs from a drug dealer around the age of 35, keeps them hidden until the right time. After about 4 months, sia decides that it's time to end his life and decides to commit suicide by consuming too many drugs in a small inn as a secret to everyone. But all of a sudden a phone call from Sia's friend cancels her suicide plan and she destroys all the drugs.
Back to the audience
Knowing that sia is tired of publicity by now, her new manager suggests sia to focus on songwriting. Although sia initially disliked the proposal, he later turned to compose songs based on his own life experiences. As a result, she's been able to cope with her stress and write songs for Rihanna, Beyonc,, Britney Spears, Madonna, and Celine Dion. sia is said to have composed Rihanna's Diamonds in 14 minutes and David Geta's Titanium in 40 minutes.
A few years later, sia came out with her album 1000 forms of fear, and the songs Chandelier and Elastic heart became very popular. Because of this, sia's audience was hoping to hear her voice again. In order to protect himself from the media and the unwanted public, sia faced the cameras with his face covered with fake hair. Also, she often covers her face in Sia's music videos and does not forget to hide her face at concerts. sia's popularity grew even more because she disliked it. Although several years have passed since the creation of her songs Cheap Thrills, The greatest, Alive and Unstoppable, their popularity has not diminished.
sia's talents have been praised many times. sia won the Music Record Award from the Australian Recording Industry Association in 2014, 2016, and 2017 in the 'Best Singer' category. It also wins the Song of the Year award. sia has also been nominated for several Grammy Awards.
If sia's suicide plan had been successful then, there would have been a huge gap in the pop music industry that could not be filled in any way. We can learn a lot from her life story.
